Overview

The findings of several months of effort were delivered to the director by a professional engineer in charge of a software development project. A task force assisted him, and after several weeks of hard labor, the task force was pleased with the outcomes. Following the presentation, the director sarcastically went to the engineer and questioned: "Do you have a dream? Your justification does not follow the regulations.
I am opposed." The engineer was troubled by the director's comments for the following two weeks. He was bored, sad, and certain that he would never be given any more significant tasks, so he thought of leaving the company even though he liked working there. Finally, he had a meeting with the director and was given critiques that shocked him. Then he posed this carefully thought-out query: "I'm not sure I really grasp what you're trying to say.
You must have other goals, so I assume it's not only to confuse me ". The director was shocked; he had no idea that his comments, which seemed to him to be merely random words, would have such an impact. The software project, in his opinion-which needed to be reworked-was actually highly promising. He vehemently resisted the urge to dismiss the initiative as useless. "I honestly didn't know my statements were that nasty and impacted individuals, " he continued.
He then expressed regret. The most crucial role for leaders is criticism. Position, yet it is the duty they dread doing the most out of fear.
